    Chronological order

on my forum i have a problem with posts showing up out of chronological order.

most users get a duplicate error message and then their post is inserted in the wrong order in the thread. what exactly is going wrong and how do i fix it?

That depends. Are the date and times on the posts correct? If so, then you have a different thread sort option that you need to change.

Sounds like you may have set things to show up as "Thread mode" instead...
Check Admin CP > vBulletin Options > Threaded / Hybrid Mode Options (showthread) > Use Threaded Mode by Default; and make sure it is set to "No".

Then, verify your user's preference: User CP > Settings & Options > Edit Options > Thread Display Options > Thread Display Options; I use "Linear - Oldest First" and things come up linearly, in chronological order.
      Best Regards,

my options were already set up as such.

the problem isn't consistent. sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. it appears seemingly at random.

the problem is still happening. only now the posts are getting thrown back a page or two at a time.

          any ideas?

i'm beginning to think it's the server time and it being reset or something. the posts are not showing up timed correctly when the error occurs.

Contact your host. They need to make sure the server time is correct and that it is synchronized regularly.
