  • Text Colour for Posting and Rollovers

    Hi VB Team,

I've noticed that since updating to the latest version I'm only getting one colour to choose from in the text editor box, black.

Is there a setting in the admincp somewhere that allows me to allow more colours for posting please?

Also when I roll the mouse over the icons in the text editor, they assume their pressed state (if that's the right term), and stay in that state. So if I were to roll my cursor across all the buttons in the text editor they would all look pressed down.

    Thanks in advance.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.

If you do not have this problem with the original templates, then this means the problem is with one or more of your custom templates. You need to revert your templates, then redo your changes.

      Hi Steve,

I've reverted all templates in one of my themes (except the header and footer), but I'm still getting the problem. Any other ideas?

      Cheers

Try my suggestion. That's why I posted it.

          Hi Steve,

I should have made myself more clear.

I have tried those suggestions. I created the new style, and it worked. I reverted the templates on my custom styles, but the problem still exists.

The only templates I haven't reverted are the header and footer (I don't want to lose my column or logo). Anything else?

          I've also cleared my cache.

          Cheers

          Ray

lol, I have no idea how those templates affected the editor functions, but it worked. So thanks.

But now I've lost my right hand column and can't find the thread I used to create it back in 2006.

Could you point me in the right direction, and I promise not to ask anymore stupid questions (for a while).

For future reference you should make copies of your code in html files so you can always put them back if you revert them.

Well I reverted the templates, but once I had put the pictures and the google search bar back in the header, the colours stop working again. I can't see the connection with the header code and the text editor functions but I think it's the google code. It worked fine until the upgrade though. Does this make sense?

                  Any ideas?
