Limiting Signature and Live Link

I am a member of a VB website which only allows a member to post a live link in the forum and have a signature after I have posted 10 posts. How is that possible? Is there a mod or that can be done with existing VB options? This is a good to prevent those spammer to just register, drop a signature and a link to their website and run. Directions are appreciated.

Go into your Administrator Control Panel, expand 'Usergroups' and select 'Usergroup Manager.'
Edit the 'Registered User' usergroup, search for "Allow HTML BBCode" and change it to 'No.' You may also change "Registered Users" to something else such as "New Members" for example.

Add a new usergroup based on 'Registered Users' usergroup. Search for "Allow HTML BBCode" and set it to "Yes."

On the left frame select "Promotions" then "Add New Promotion".

Usergroup: New Members
Reputation Comparison Type: Greater or Equal to
Reputation Level: 0
Days Registered: 0
Posts: 10
Promotion Strategy: Posts
Promotion Type: Primary Usergroups
Move User to Usergroup: Registered Users

Thanks for your response. I understand the concept but I have a question about HTML BBCode. Does the HTML BBcode that allows you to post a live link in the post as I now have HTML BBCode set to no with Registered Members group now that they can post a link. Did you mean Link BBCode?

For controlling signature I see an option "Allow User Signature." I try that to see if it prevent new members from adding a signature to their profile.

I have been testing it a little but still can't figure out how to prevent new users from posting a live URL. If anybody has any hints, I appreciate it.

There is a mod that does this over on the vBulletin.org site.
Ive just installed it this morning and its brilliant.
You can create rules so that members who reach a specific post count can post links.
For example, I have it set so when a user reaches a post count of 10, they can begin posting links or images etc. This eliminates the spammers that only register to spam a link.

Ifti, thanks for the tips. That is what I am looking for. Would you share the name of the mod? I searched and I saw this Links and Downloads Manager mod and not sure if that what you installed.
