  • How to change 3 features. May not be possible?

    Hi Guys,

    I have spent 10+ hours searching this and other forums for the answers to my three questions and I can't seam to find them. Any help you can provide would be greatly appriciated. My HTML and PHP skills are very limited (I have an SQL background only).

    For system hacks, assume I have a vanilla layout right now. My three items I'm looking to change are:

    1. I want to move the table header below the category strips. I'm looking to get #1 below #4 in this screen www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/color_maps_forumhome

    For the life of me I can't figure this out. I've used the search feature looking for my category strip names and dug through the edit settings but to no avail.

    2. I have figured out how to change the category strip picture in the CSS edit section but I don't know how to make it custom for each section. Is this even possible?

    3. Another one that I'm not sure is possible. Can you change a different banner/header logo for each forum section? Think changing the VBulletin banner logo on this site for each forum section. When someone clicks into a forum the banner would change to something related to that section. Can this be done? If so, how?

    I would be greatful for any help I could get with these. I'll be actively checking back so if you have any questions or need more info please let me know. I'm very willing and excitied to learn but I'm having a hard time getting started. (Yes, I've read the VBulletin Doc's section a few times now)

    Thanks!

    1) Move this code:
    HTML Code:
     <tr align="center">
          <td class="thead">&nbsp;</td>
          <td class="thead" width="100%" align="$stylevar[left]">$vbphrase[forum]</td>
          <td class="thead" width="175">$vbphrase[last_post]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[threads]</td>
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[posts]</td>
          <if condition="$vboptions['showmoderatorcolumn']">
          <td class="thead">$vbphrase[moderator]</td>
          </if>
        </tr>
    From your FORUMHOME template to your forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost template.

    2) You would need to use template conditionals to make each one unique.
    <if condition="$forum[forumid]==XX"><img src... /></if>

    With CSS you could add a unique class to each category since you can add more than one class....
    class="tcat forum{$forum[forumid]}"

    3) Again you can use template conditionals or create a style for each forum and assign that style in the forum manager and tell it to override the default. If you create child styles and only change the title image path under Stylevars, then it will inherit any other changes from its parent.

      Thank you very much! I was able to figure out the first item with your help. I'll keep working on the next two and let you know how it works.

      Thanks again!

        EDIT: I've figured it out, thanks!

        I have a follow-up question on #2. I assume I put the conditional in forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost but I'm not sure where. How do I locate where to put the code?
