how do i upload new fonts?

i understand how to add the font once it's uploaded but where is the fonts directory?

There is no fonts directory for the fonts used in the wysiwyg editor. This is only a reference to tell the browser which one to use. If the user has that font installed it will use it or go to the next one in the list, until it uses the default one set by the browser.

For security reasons you can't install the font on the users' system.
