Add name option

Hi , I need again your help.
Iam using 3.8.0 and i need to add the option ( must ) for the new members upon registration to add their name and that must me show in the forum in the list below



How do i do this ?

Also look the second attachement from another forum that has the name , at the possition which i am looking also to have it.

That could be done using the ACP -> User Profile Fields -> Add New User Profile Field, and then in the vB postbit(_legacy) template, use the following where X is the ID of the new profile field:

Hi , look above this is what i did. I changed were was written shield6 with the word name , saved it , but still cannot see it on the forum page this option.

You need to use the profile field id which is always in the format fieldx where x is a number. You can get the profile field id from

AdminCP > User Profile Fields > User Profile Fields Manager

Is there a limit of how many info ( lines ) can be on the page ??

Are you editing the template appropriate to the postbit style you use? (postbit or postbit_legacy)
Also ensure the postbit for the user that you are viewing has entered a value into field8 ("Name" in your case). From what I understand, it won't show up if the field is blank.

That is correct. The conditional part of it means that it does not show if the field has not been completed by the user. Fill in the field in your profile then view one of your posts to check it is appearing as expected.

Managed to sort it out .
Its was may mistake .
Just for the rest that they will face the same problem ,Remember, when you have your avatars on top of the posts, that's the postbit template, but when you have to the side of the post, that's postbit_legacy.

What i did i was trying to add it in the postbit_legacy insted in the postbit
