my site opening as www.domainname.com/forums

Hi all,

Hoping you can help me with something. I just installed vbulletin and realized that i can't reach it just by entering my domain (www.domainname.com). instead, it will only work as www.domainname.com/forums. During installation it asked me for my BB url, which I entered as www.domainname.com/. When I tried my domainname.com, vbulletin wouldnt open. only when I added the /forums to it. Once I got into the admin panel I went into vbulletin options > site /url... and set the forum url to domainname.com. still isnt working though. I know I changed my upload folder to the name 'forums' and it seems to be reading from there.

anyway, I'm new at all this, so any help is much appreciated...

Log into your FTP and move all the files from the forum directory into the parent directory. Depending on your server this may be the first directory you see when you log into your FTP or it could be directory called public_html, www, httpdocs or similar.

I understand but is there more to it than that? Don't I have to edit some files and change the .com/forums to .com? I'm pretty sure that's the case, but if you know, please let me know.

As you have said that you already set your Forum URL as being without the /forums then there is nothing else to do. Otherwise, you would need to change this. You should also make sure that the URL in your members area is correct for where your forums are located.
