  • Paid subscription's expiry and usergroups

    We are currently implementing on our site a Deluxe membership system where paid members enjoy extended privileges on the forums. We are using the paid subscription feature of VBulletin and there seems to be a problem when their membership expires. Upon signup, the usergroup automatically changes to 'Deluxe Member' from the default 'Registered Member'. When the subscription expires, by right the system should change the usergroup back to the original usergroup which is "Registered Member'. Apparently, VBulletin is not changing back to the previous usergroup. Any help to fix this problem is highly appreciated.

    Additional information:
    I checked the cron script and it is being executed daily (paid subscriptions)
    Paid subscription status is set to 'active=no' after expiry date

    To troubleshoot this, please reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    [Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

    Next disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    When you have done this, wait until another subscription expires and if the problem persists let us know.

      does this mean we have to disable all our plugins when running the cron?

        You need to follow the instructions in post #2. Those instructions are for troubleshooting the problem. You will need to follow them and see if this resolves your issue. You may need to stick with the default style and modifications disabled for a while until you next get a subscription that expires.

          I have the same problem.

          I also noticed that when a new subscription payment comes in, the expiry date for the subscription does not get update.

          Any help would be appreciated.
