newbie question: move user info on posts to side?

I just recently setup vBulletin for the first time. I've used other free bulletin boards such as phpBB, but have never previously purchased and used vBulletin.

Is there a simple way to move the post's author information to the left side of the post, as is standard (and most space/visually effective)? So that rather than there being a full-width bar saying the user's name, info, avatar, etc., it's all placed to the side of the post as so many forums are setup?

I also had one other small question. I put a title graphic that is as wide as the background area, but for some reason vBulletin is positioning it wrong. I've attached an image of it.

I already discovered a setting under options that allows me to change it. Its under "legacy postbit". So I got that. Any ideas on why it's displaying my title graphic wrong?

Edit: also is there any way to make it so user registration is by invitation only? Where an email can be sent to email addresses that invites them to register, and this would be the only way to register. Or the easier way would just be that all new registrations have to be approved by the admin before they become active. Can someone help me with either of these.

Might try something like Invitation System v2.0.2 for vB3.6 and 3.5 series and in the invite that's sent out reveal a required value for a special user profile field you've added. That, or use something like NoSpam! to only allow those with the correct answer to proceed with registering.

AdminCP > Styles & Templates > Style Manager > *Your Style Name* > Edit Templates > header > Customize (or Edit)

Delete it then save the template.

2. To enable moderation of new users, go to

AdminCP > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > User Registration Options > Moderate New Members

When this is enabled, new registrations will need to be moderated in the AdminCP by going to

AdminCP > Moderation > Moderate Users
