Could it be possible that the mysqldump dumped all the data except for the last 6-12 hours of data, when doing the backup? I just made a backup of my forum's db using:

    PHP Code:
    mysqldump --opt -u root -p vb_forum vb_forum.sql
And restored it onto a new bd, to compare both databases, and there seems to be some new threads and posts that are missing on the backup, that are obviously present on the live forum.

Any thoughts? Im starting to think that this was caused because the mysqldump was doing the backup while the board was up and running. Isnt this normal?

In this case, is there a way to import such missing threads and posts? like using impex tool?

    Thanks a lot!

It could be. Which is why you should close your forums when making backups.
