Session timeout

The default session timeout is 900 seconds which means 15 minutes, if I wanted to increase it, is it a good idea, like 1800 seconds, so that it will be 30 minutes?

I have it 900 on one forum, 7200 on a new/starting forum to look more active and give newcomers more time to write their threads.

Increasing this value also means users will appear longer as online.

I think session time should be display new the whos online list so it doesn't give a false impression and also saves people having to find out how long a session on a forum (ie the competition) is.
