  • Quick Question, setting forum homepage

    Hello,

I had a site www.xxxxxxxxx.com and used vBadvanced as the homepage. The forum was located at www.xxxxxxxxx.com/forum. We changed our mind and want www.xxxxxxxxxx.com to go directly to the forum at www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com/forum without vBadvanced.

I uninstalled vBadvanced, how to I get www.xxxxxxxxxxx.com to go to the forum now. There is no index file in the www.xxxxxxxxxx.com folder.

    Thanks

    First update your forum URL:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details -> Forum URL

Also make sure your cookie path and domain are default:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Cookies and HTTP Header Options

The path should be "/" and the domain should be blank.

Then you need to copy all of the files from the "forum" directory to the web root. You can download the files with FTP and then upload them back to the new location with FTP.

Thanks, I fixed all of that but the forum still wants to look for images in www.xxxxxxxxxxxx.com/forums/images when they are in www.xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/images

      What should I do.

      Thanks

Fix the Image Path settings in your Style Manager.

The image paths are in your:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> StyleVars (in the menu)

You might also find some paths for background images in your:

Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Main CSS (in the menu)

There are also the smilies, avatars, and post icons:

Admin CP -> Smilies / Avatars / Post Icons

          And the default post icon:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> Thread Display Options (showthread) -> Show Default Post Icon

That is all of the images.
