    Forum Settings...

AdminCP > Forums and Moderators > Forum manger > Edit > "Forum password?"

That's how you set one, it doesn't answer his question.

        According to this page: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/forum_add_forum

Forum Password – if you wish to password protect this forum, specify the password here. Administrators, super moderators, and moderators of the forum in question will not be prompted for a password. Passwords are not automatically applied to child forums; use Apply This Password to Child Forums to emulate this function.

I directed him to where a password would be set. If there is one set for the particular forum, then he would see it in the Forum Password Box.

The forum he could be referring to could be a forum that his moderators don't moderate, such as an Announcements forum or a Staff Forum... so the fact that moderators are exempt from password protected forums doesn't mean that what he is saying isn't possible.
          Regards,
          Nick

If no password is set, none would be asked.

What 'mod panel' are you referring to and have you installed any add-ons?

Isn't there supposed to be a control panel for moderators to see and use?

Yes, it's generally in your 'modcp' directory (unless you have changed this) and they should be able to access that URL directly.

To Eagle Nick, could you elaborate a bit more in step by step format? I am a newbie. Thanks, Jeannie
