Restore the backup to a new database, then edit your config.php file with the appropriate db info.

Yeah, I have the backup, I have it uploaded, but the problem is on my old host it was named psucccom_forums on the new host it's named psucomic_forums so it's not working... the username is different too.

Could I just have the SQL database uploaded already setup but the database has a different prefix then what my vbulletin was setup with. I only have SSH on the server I'm moving to, I think.

Instructions for moving servers are in the online manual here:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/moving_servers

Note: The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:

    Backup:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...nce_ssh_backup

    Restore:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/m...ce_ssh_restore

P.S. If you do not have telnet or SSH access, some people have reported success with these scripts:

    MySQLDumper:
    http://www.mysqldumper.de/en/index.php

    MySQLHotxcopy:
    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showt...t=mysqlhotcopy

    Bigdump (restore only):

OK, I changed hosts since my old one wasn't reliable enough anymore. My dilemma is that my old database is named something else. Is there like a file I could edit that would have this info in it?

I didn't reinstall the board on the new host, I just copied the files...
