  • Off-Set Logo

    Hi,

    I just made a custom logo for my forum, and it's one space off-center. Is there anyway to fix this? I just need to add one space to it to make it right.

    Here's a picture:

    Admin CP -> Styles & Templates -> Style Manager -> Common Templates (in the menu) -> header

    Remove the red code:

    Code:
    <!-- logo -->
    <a name="top"></a>
    <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
    <tr>
    	<td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
    	<td align="$stylevar[right]">
    		&nbsp;
    	</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    <!-- /logo -->

    <!-- content table -->
    $spacer_open

    $_phpinclude_output

      Will it still be centered?

        Yes. It shouldn't affect any alignments.

          This is what's present instead of the code you provided:

          Code:
          <!-- logo -->
          <a name="top"></a>
          <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
          <tr>
              <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
              <td align="$stylevar[right]" id="header_right_cell">
                  <if condition="$ad_location['ad_header_logo']">$ad_location[ad_header_logo]<else />&nbsp;</if>
              </td>
          </tr>
          </table>
          <!-- /logo -->

            Yours is slightly different because of your ad code. Use this code in place of that:

            Code:
            <!-- logo -->
            <a name="top"></a>
            <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
            <tr>
                <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
                <if condition="$ad_location['ad_header_logo']">
                <td align="$stylevar[right]" id="header_right_cell">
                    $ad_location[ad_header_logo]
                </td>
                </if>
            </tr>
            </table>
            <!-- /logo -->
            That will remove the extra table cell on pages that don't have ads. Or you can just remove the add code completely if you don't use it:

            Code:
            <!-- logo -->
            <a name="top"></a>
            <table border="0" width="$stylevar[outertablewidth]" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
            <tr>
                <td align="$stylevar[left]"><a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php$session[sessionurl_q]"><img src="$stylevar[titleimage]" border="0" alt="$vboptions[bbtitle]" /></a></td>
            </tr>
            </table>
            <!-- /logo -->

                Why is the $stylevar[left] and $stylevar[right] there at all? Where are these controlled in admin other than in the template?

                  I am not sure where those are defined. If you need to change a particular instance then you can just replace the variable with a regular alignment value.

                    Sounds like a bug or an oversight then right? I mean yes it's easy to change but I bet it would drive some people nutzo trying to find where those variable settings are.

                      All important style settings are in the Style Manager. That particular variable might require a plugin to change. It is not one that is normally changed.
