Thread rating stars error

Rather than trying to explain just have a look at the pic.

Then there's 3 questions.

How do you get a greater than 5 average when there's only 5 stars to vote for?

And how come no stars are displayed for that result?

And how do I fix it?

It looks like a missing image. Do you have any plugins installed?

Check the source code from the rendered page, and see if that alt text is from an image, and which image it is expecting.

Then why do the other stars appear?

That can only be from a modification you made.

I went into the Images folder and saw that _5.gif was most so made a _6.gif and it's OK now ... but how did it get voted above the 5 anyway is what really puzzles me?

As I said the only way that could happen is via a modification.

Is it possible to clear out the votes for that thread some how?

Maybe best to start again.

There is no built-in option to do that. Also it would not fix the underlying modification that allowed this to happen.

However you can run these queries to remove the votes from that thread:

UPDATE thread SET votenum='' WHERE threadid='xxxx';

UPDATE thread SET votetotal='' WHERE threadid='xxxx';

...with 'xxxx' being the threadid number of that thread.

Thanks for helping Steve but I get an error when I try run that? That 1164 error thing.

Thread ID is 1058

No plug in or mod either ... just a weird glitch, could be member votinf twice or me changing voting conditionals etc?

If you use a table prefix then you need to add this to thread so making it PREFIX_thread where PREFIX_ is the table prefix you are using.
