spam - not sure what kind - nor how to stop it

Lately I have been getting spam from me [email protected]. And some spam in my inbox that is from xxxx@ (where xxxx varies in name).

Is the webmaster a form of xss?

Forget the other if it is not related. I will chase them down.

Admin Control Panel > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > User Banning Options > Here you can enter the email address to ban, such as @noevalley.com which covers webmaster@ and all the others@ The banning instructions are also printed in more details for the email banning options.

These are not registered members.

And the only from information (without opening the header) is name @, ie. adonis @, or james @.

Ok, so they are not registered members on your forum.

Are they posting as guest users on your forum?
How are they spamming you through the forum?

I really need more specific information.
