    Maybe someone else can explain it in more technical terms, but it simple terms, it's basically the maximum amount of memory that is allowed allotted to PHP for scripts at any given time. If it goes over, you'll get a fatal error that you ran out of memory.

    In my own experience, and not to speak generally, I found 16MB to be a minimum, with 32MB (maybe even 24MB) or more being ideal.
