Database backup Error

I recently upgraded to 3.6.8 and I cannot backup my database via vBulletin. All I get are error messages. This never happened before the upgrade. I understand the other methods for database backup, but...this was never a problem before. Is there a reason for this happening. Sounds like a bug that needs fixing. Please assist.

This is a server time limit. To increase your limits edit your includes/config.php file and add this line right under the <?php line:

ini_set("max_execution_time", "240");

Note: The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because
backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or hpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:

Here's how I was able to eliminate the problem: I had some old database tables created from a previous add-on (mainly a chat client). I deleted the tables and the problem went away.
