Clicking on smilies brings up image tag

I installed some custom smilies on my forum. When I enter the text code for the smilies, they display in posts, but when I click on them, they don't. All I get is an <img> tag.

I've been over and over my smiley settings and permissions, and everything seems to be in order, but obviously I've overlooked something. Thanks to anybody who can point out what it is.

By the way, the smilies are hotlinked on a dedicated image host. They haven't been uploaded to the smilies folder in images.

Interesting. I just performed a test with IE6, and the smilies appeared in the posts when I clicked on them. The problem must lie with the latest version of Firefox, which is the browser I normally use.

Try this. Create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Then change to this style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

If you do, empty your browser cache, close all browser windows and try again.
