Usergroups

hi, for some reason , sometimes when a user register, they go to the super user usergroup. most of the people go to registered usergroup after registering.

i dont want anyone to be under super user usergroup, why is it putting some users under this usergroup and others not?

and how can i mass move all users from super users usergroup to registered users usergroup?

anyway to mass move users from one usergroup to the other? and anyway to inforce all users that register fall under only 1 usergroup?

Unless you have a promotion or a modified board theres no way for a registered user to go into any group aside from users awaiting email confirmation or the registered usergroup.

Have you modified any of the default usergroups or setup any promotions or added any modifications?

i really dont think so, this started happening when i upgraded

i used to have vbplaza but i un-installed it before the upgrade

there is no way to mass move users to another usergroup? what file should i overwrite that could be edited that is in charge of this?

I created a promotion that if users have registered and have 0 posts then they will be promoted to Registered Users Usergroup

will this work for members that have registered before i did this promotion or this will only work for new members registering?

Why a promotion? That's the default group for new members.

yea but for some reason i am having some users that register be placed in the Super Member Usergroup. I understand this may be due to hacks installed.

so therefore i created that promotion to fix this problem

so does the promotion work for all users before i created the promotion or it will only be effective after i created the promotion for new users that register

Note: We cannot provide support for hacked and forums running non-vB code. The default usergroup is usergroupid '2'.

On an unhacked vB, the promotion will affect all users that are eligible.

To mass move, use the PRUNE/MOVE USERS function under the USERS menu on the Admin CP
