How to replace forum_old.gif with forum_old.png?

I know that I have to replace the currently uploaded image with the one I want to use, but what about the script? Do I simply change forum_old.gif to forum_old.png in the FORUMHOME template or are more modifications required?

By the way, the reason I'm using a png instead of a gif is that the image looks much sharper as a png.

Thanks for the suggestion, but all I want to change is just the one image. Seems to me that at this stage it'd be easier for me to edit the template than to install Nomoregifs.

Is FORUMHOME the only template I'll have to alter?

to see if that image is used anywhere else, do a 'search in templates' for forum_old.gif
