    database/server question.

I have searched around and cannot find the answer to my possable silly question.

Can you have your database on one server and have your forum on another? I have one forum up and running now and I want to set another one up but I need the new forum on a different host but that host does not support a database...

Yes that is possible. However it requires that both servers be setup to allow communications to that database server. In my experience unless you are running both servers yourself, it is not likely the hosts of these server will allow this.

It's also worth noting that a busy site will generate a TON of traffic between a web server and a db server so unless you have a private link between the two (ie, you aren't paying for the bandwidth) then I wouldn't recommend it.
