Change color of forum category.

Hi,

I want change the color at the some forum and sub-forum. In the image below I haved selectioned the section that I want cancge color:



How do I do?

This should get you started:

The first part to look for is Category Strips. The second part you're looking for is Second Alternating Color.

I've checked out the info in the link, but haven't been able to find exactly where to change the color of the forum category. I want to change mine from the default dark blue to a rust color.

Go to Style Manager, select Main CSS.

But where -- in which box -- do I make the necessary modifications? That's what I need to know.

Scroll down to the right section, then click on the existing color. It will open a palette to select from. For even more colors, click on the button left of the X (top right corner) and it will give you many more options. Keep hitting that button to rotate thru many color ranges.

The thing is I don't know which is the right box. None of them seems to apply to what I want to change.

I am not positive I know what you want to change, but try First Alternating Color. I think that is the one.

I just want to change the color of the forum category font. In this forum, for example, that would be vBulletin 3.6 'How Do I' Questions.

I hate to keep guessing, but now I think you might mean Catagory Strips. Try that and if it doesn't work, do what I do - I am figuring this stuff out by changing one at a time to a bright green and then look to see what changed.

Thanks for the reply, Jim. Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I've been doing what you're doing, that is, changing stuff that I think might be what I need to change and then crossing my fingers that I've hit a bullseye. No luck so far, but I'll keep trying. I'm gonna make it to the top of this learning curve if it kills me!

LOL. You and me both. What I hate more than anything now is changing something one day and then not being able to remember where the heck it was the next day...

It wasn't catagory strips? If you look at my site www.RealEstateTalkArizona.com which line is it you want to work with? Or tell me your site address and which line.

On your forum, it would be the font color of the forum categories, for example, Agents & Brokers Only. I'd change that and the other titles to a dark red, as opposed to the default blue. That's all I want to change, the font color of my forum category titles. Such a simple thing, but how to do it?

Found it! It is in First Alternating Color - Normal Links CSS. You might want to change it for visited links also. If you don't, the users will see two colors of fonts in that column and they would change after they visit a forum.

Thanks for bringing up this item. I wasn't aware you could change them but now I have another thing to consider playing with myself.

I assume changing these settings under Second Alt Color would change the second column.
