search in templates no longer working

after upgrade from .7 to .8, search in templates doesn't seem to work any more.

i enter a phrase and hit find, and it loads the default template admin page for any term.

bug? or should i try re-uploading anything?

Not a bug. This works fine in the default 3.6.8.

To troubleshoot this, first reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

[Note: In some cases you may also need to remove any of the listed .xml files in the includes/xml directory.]

Next, disable all plugins.

Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

file versions are good, and i killed all hooks to test

re-uploaded the /admincp directory and still have the same results.

any other ideas?

i should also note that the same thing is happening on another site where i upgraded from 3.6.5 to 3.6.8 today as well, both with their respected file zip.

If you really have no add-ons installed, fill out a support ticket at:

Please include a complete description of the problem and be sure to include the login info to your Admin CP, phpMyAdmin and FTP in the 'Sensitive Data' field.

Having this same problem in 3.8.4... would've been nice if you just provided support here instead of giving the same response to disable hooks/etc all the time... sigh
