How do I fix my email updating in profiles

    Hi

I need some help. I have sent a notice to our members asking them to update their email addresses since we have a lot of members that it looks like have not updated their emails from the bounces we get from PM and thread notifications.

The problem I am having is that when members update his/her email their account is getting set to "Users Awaiting Confirmation" . I would like them to just be able to update their email address with out their account changing. I thought there was a setting for this, but I can not find it.

    Help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

To do this you would have to turn off email verification here:

Admin CP -> vBulletin Options -> User Registration Options -> Verify Email address in Registration -> No

Change CKEditor Colors to Match Style (for 4.1.4 and above)

      Hi Steve

Thanks. But I actaully want it to verify on initial registration, but not once they are registered and are simply updating it. Is that possible?

      Thanks

You can't do that without modifying the code. You can try asking over at www.vbulletin.org.

          Hi Steve

Thanks. So let me ask this, if I turn it off people will still get an email with their user name and password to be able to log in to the site when first signing up right?

Yes, they will go directly into the Registered usergroup.

              Hi Steve

Thanks. I did a little work around and turned off email notification, but I am manually approving registrations, so if I see emails that do appear to be spam I simply write them. It's a bit of a pain, but about 90% of our registrations are legit.

              Thanks
