Problem with email to users

I upgraded my forum on Friday evening to 3.6.8 and everything went well. Today, I sent out an email to all users but it only sent the email to the first 44 members. I left it a while and tried again but it only sent the email to 39 members.

Does anyone know what might be causing this please?

Try this:

Admin CP -> Users -> Send Email to Users -> Include users that have declined admin emails? -> Yes

Is this a bug? I don't want to have to send email to users that have opted not to receive them.

No it's not a bug. If you do not want to send them these emails then it's working exactly as designed.

If it's working as designed can you tell me why I was only able to send a handful of emails when the majority of my members have requested to receive them please?

It will send emails to whichever members allow emails from Admins. That is by design. The only way that would change is if you made a modification that changed this.

I haven't made any modifications other than upgrade to 3.6.8

Could it be a problem with my host?

nope users can uncheck the box "receive administrator emails" in there profile options ... maybe that's the catch
