  • RSS Feed Manager question

    Hi,

I would like to use the RSS Feed Manager to fetch posts from my blog and list them in my sidebar section (I am using Ultimate Side Columns mod) instead of in a forum or thread.

Can anyone help me achieve this?

    Thanks!

    Kenneth

The RSS Feed manager is made to get a remote rss feed and post entries as threads in the forum. Not for syndicating out. That's the external data provider. Admin Control Panel > vBulletin Options > vBulletin Options > External Data Provider > Here you can turn on your xml/rss feeds so you get RSS on your forum through: external.php?type=rss2 which you can then use with any rss reader, perhaps such as that mod you got installed.

Am I misunderstanding your response above (which it could very well be!) or I might have explained this badly.

The feed from my blog is not considered a remote feed? Would that be because it resides on the same domain?

I'm not sure i understand the second part of your reply...I know where to go for the data provider but I would put my feed in there?

      Thanks for the help!

The active discussions from your forum are provided through external.php?type=rss2 You can use that, if that page is blank, or not working, then you have to turn it on from the global options in the admincp > external data provider.

vBulletin doesn't come with a sidebar, so that's not something I can help you with.

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
