Make the subforums 'list', horizontal. ?!

Hi all.
I have searched long and hard for an answer here, so please bear with me. Everything I've found pertains to the 'depth'? of the sub-forum level.

I am trying to have my sub-forums listed, directly horizontal under their parent forum. Exactly like they do on this very forum. I have created sub-forums so far, but it creates them looking exactly the same as a regular forum, only it shades the tiny square to the right of the name a light blue. I think it is the preset. Anyway I would be so thankful for any help.

Also, anyone know if there is a forum template similar to this one?

How To Make Forum Depth Greater Than '2' by Steve Machol

This still may not fix it, as it only makes it deeper... Unless you can edit some templates and place threadbits to showup in same area as forum, but that would take a bit of time to make those edits.
