I'm interested in moving my site to a new server and wish to back up my database. However, I have Frontpage extensions. I know nothing about the SSH or the Telnet stuff. Can this be done? My second question is, how do I find the exact database file?

The name of the database file is in your vB includes/config.php file.

The only consistently reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeout errors and an incomplete backup file.
