    restrict new threads

Hi I would like to have some forums restricted so that admin are the only ones allowed to add new threads but users can still post comments on the thread.

But some forums need to be completely open

Does someone out there know how to do this?

    Thanks

You can adjust permissions for individual forums under Forums & Moderators > Forum Permissions.

Just remove the "Can Create New Threads" permission for the usergroups you need to for each forum you want to change.

just done it and now they are taken to this page...

you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: etc

Do you know where the wording of this page is kept so I can change it?

        Thanks

All language (except FAQs) is in Phrases. Do a 'Search in Phrases' for the specific language you are looking for, then edit the appropriate Phrase.

Admin CP -> Languages & Phrases -> Search in Phrases

Note: To edit a phrase, place the new phrase in the available language text boxes.
