    3.6.8 log in problems, explain this screen shot?

    The users who are experiencing the problem of posting pics as per this thread

    are also getting log in problems.

    In the attached screen shot you can see the error message coming up yet the user is logged in.

    Both issues still unresolved however they are linked somehow, it all revolves around certain members being able to post pics and log in stuff.

    Have the user reset its cookies and empty the cache, restart the browser and try again.

      They do that and are OK until then next time they try to log in, some people dont clean their sessions regularly and like to click on a forum and just enter or post pics etc.

      I'll keep you posted but certainly something bizaar going on here.

        First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

        Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

        Next, disable all plugins.

        Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

        define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

        Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

          Thanks for the reply, I like it when you reply, very knowledgeable.

          I had a thread going on updating sigs

          Is there anyway we can run MySql queries for the particular users affected? Maybe there was some corruption in data writing etc?

          The people that experience this are always the same handful of people. They are part of a special group who have access to hidden forums, they also suffer the occasional attachment problem.

          So maybe run quiries to update their login, permissions etc to make sure the data base is accurate ... what do you think?
