Username attributes

I want to change the style to the username in the postbit...more exactly...I do not want it to be underlined...i've found the css for it bigusername,i can change the font etc but it seems the underline style for the link is global...if you can help me..please!

also...i've noticed several forums that have colors for usernames in the postbit.different colors for moderators,admins etc....how?

For your first question, find this in the postbit(_legacy) template:

                <if condition="$show['profile']">
                <a class="bigusername" href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]">$post[musername]</a>
                <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("postmenu_$post[postid]", true); </script>
                <else />
                $post[musername]
                </if>

Replace it with this (I added the part in red):

                <if condition="$show['profile']">
                <a class="bigusername" href="member.php?$session[sessionurl]u=$post[userid]"[color=red] style="text-decoration: none"[/color]>$post[musername]</a>
                <script type="text/javascript"> vbmenu_register("postmenu_$post[postid]", true); </script>
                <else />
                $post[musername]
                </if>

And for your second question, visit this option in each usergroup you want to add HTML markup to:

Admin CP -> Usergroups -> Edit Usergroup -> Username HTML Markup

about the markup..is there any special command i need to give..ive noticed 2 fields there...can u give me an example of html for color...i dont wanna ruin anything..im cautious

The first field is for the opening tag, the second one for the closing tag.
Field 1: <span style="color: red">
Field 2: </span>

This would make the usernames red.

I didn't work for me, it shows up with the code attached to the username.

I would just create another thread for yourself about this and you should add a screenshot on how you added the code. You are limited to the character lenght and can not exceed that without altering a table within your database.
