    avatar and promotion question

    Hello,

    I have a question about avatars at promotions.

    I would letting my users to use their own avatar when they are registered but i decided to use promotion system.

    I changed usergroup permissions for registered users and disabled avatar and profile picture option. Users that has more than 100 messages will be moved to real users.

    And i created a new user called real users and i enabled avatar and profile pic to them.

    And the problem is, after promotions, users at registered users group still can use avatar. I mean they still have avatars because they could use it at before promotion time.

    I tried running all of the counter update options but still registered users has avatars. ( I mean the old ones still has, new ones cant have them, but i want also avatars' of old users at registered members group to be deleted)

    I hope it is clear

    Changing this is not retroactive. If they already have an avatar then removing this from the usergroup permissions will not remove existing avatars.

        The only thing I could come up with is to remove alll avatars for anyone in the Registered group (primary). To do this, backup your database then run this query:

        update user set avatarid='' where usergroupid='2';

        Unfortunately that would still leave the avatars in the customavatar table and I do not have an easy way to remove those. Someone with better query skills may come up with something better.

        Also if you are using that other usergroup as a secondary group, it will remove those too.
