How to speed up IP address searchs??

My main forum has over 300,000 posts and 4,000 members.

If I perform a level 1 or 2 search it takes forever... sometimes even up to 5 minutes, where I just normally just give up and close the browser!

Is there anyway whatsoever to speed this up???

My other forum is smaller but normally produces level2 results in 3-10 seconds.

Thank you for contacting vBulletin Support.

Change from the vB search to the MySQL FULLTEXT search.

Admin Control Panel > vBulletin Options > Search Type : FULLTEXT
