  • Are there any instructions how to set an encoding?

    Foк example,

    1) I installed vB

    MySQL:
    ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;
    utf8_general_ci
    Ok.

    2) I saved a MySQL backup.

    My test text looks like:

    & # 1058; & # 1077; & # 1089; & # 1090;
    (w/o spaces)

    Should that be so? I don't know.

    Should I know that? Maybe this text should be readable? And I need to change setting?

    Maybe settings in 'Language Manager' should be changed?

    Maybe I should change 'HTML Character Set' to UTF-8?

    Ok. I write UTF-8 there.

    And I get a new problem. vBulletin doesn't understand 2 characters at all, it saves them:

    *
    ???

    Where to find an answer? To use vB Support Ticket System?

    Yes, the vBsupport is excellent. I used it a year ago. 1) Very fast, and 2) Very effective. No doubt. Thanks!

    But there is a huge problem. I don't know how they corrected this problem. I received a corrected "black box". And now I have this problem again.

    I'd like to get an instruction which settings I should change to save 1) correct characters and 2) they would be correct after restoring MySQL backups.

    Where to find this information? What should I change?

    Thanks.
