  • How do I export all my attachements as they are to one serverfolder?

Currently the attachemnts are stored in the filesystem somethink like this:

    /attachment/1/3/3/4/5/xxx.attach

I would like to export all files who are stored as an attachment in my forums to one folder (without subfolders) and as they are, if there is an *.zip File then it would be exported as *.zip.

Thanks for any hints on how to do this.

There is no function to do this due to file system restrictions.

If you are backing up attachments, simply use a recursive copy to copy the entire tree or zip up the entire folder will do.

      Thanks.

But how do I get the "real files"?

      example.doc instead of xxx.attach

You will need to refer to the database for the filenames...

What are you trying to achieve?

          No archieve.

I want to import the files in into the my download-database. The script for the download-database offers a batch-upload functionality.

I see... I was thinking along the lines of backing up in case of disk failure instead, which really puzzled me when you mentioned the real file name.

In all cases, unfortunaetly there is no default automatic mechanism to do what you want... Though, I'm sure you can head over to vbulletin.org and ask for a quick script that will do what you want there as it is not a complicated task.
