  • Backups Failing/Attachment storage

    Hi

I noticed this morning that my backups are failing, and I suspect it is due to the attachments stored in the database. I want to move the attachments out of the database onto the file system to reduce the backup storage requirements, are there any dangers in doing this? Current total backup size is about 500meg.

There are no dangers to storing attachments in the file system.

    The only considerations are:

    1) If you have multiple webservers, you will have to store them in a centrally located place or sync them across servers.

    2) If you ever move servers, you need to make sure to back them up and take them with you.
