  • User has access to private forum when they shouldn't

    Hi,
I setup a new private forum on my vbulletin yesterday that is only viewable by Admin/Mods/Super-mods and one specific usergroup which only has about 7 members.

I setup the forum permissions correctly, but somehow, a user from another group has gotten access to the forum and posted in a topic there.

I can't for the life of me figure out how this has happened. I setup a test user with the same usergroups as this user and cannot access the forum or said topic.

Can anybody shed some light on why this might be happening?

    Thanks in advance.

This is not possible if the permissions are set correctly and you have no add-ons installed. Did you install any add-ons?

Yea, I have the same problem on my board. One guy figured out a way in to the private mod forum. He says he typed in something to the URL.

I am having this problem too!

For some reason a member has access to the mod forum --even though he shouldn't?

I checked, doucle checked, and triple checked my settings. Anyone else have a fix? I am running a stright/unmodded forum.

Another problem I have is with members being pushed into other usergroups without anyone making changes? People that have been part of the site for 3 years will automatically be pushed into the "waiting for email confirmation" group?

        Thanks for looking.

Please reread post #2. Then if you have any further questions please start your own thread with all the relevant details.
