  • Infractions & read-only

I've searched the forums but came up empty on two questions:

    1) is there an easy way to turn off the infraction system so that the report.gif icon doesn't appear in the postbit template?

    2) is there a way for an Administrator to manually set a user to read-only, without using the infraction system? For example, if I want to temporarily ban a user from posting, but they would still have read access to all the forums they normally have access to. I don't want to change their user group, just make it so that they cannot post.

    TIA

    1. You would have to remove the infraction permissions for each usergroup.

    2. The only way to do this would be to create a special usergroup with the required permissions and move then to it.
