Tables in Threads

I posted an HTML table in a new thread, but the table is way down the page there is a ton of white space above it??
If I make the table 2 rows there is only a small amount of white space above it, the more rows I add, the more white space is added and the further the table gets pushed down the page??

I strongly recommend to not allow HTML in posts. This decreases security.

I rather use custom made bbcode for tables. So you can control the code used.

If you continue to use HTML, even though it isn't recommended, put your entire table on a single line with no linebreaks.

If I use custom bbcodes, will the codes be automatically substituted when a user copies content with table html into a post?

It would be just like with [b]..[/b] and [url]...[/url] etc.
