  • Newsletter solution?

I am after an email newsletter solution and decided to post about it here to see if anybody has any ideas about how to go about this.

I need newsletter software that pulls emails from the user database on vBulletin but also allows me to import cvs emails or add additional non-vB emails to the email database.

I am thinking that it may be possible to use a third party newsletter application and have it pull from the vB database, is this possible and has anybody done it?

Alternatively, does a vB add on come close to achieving this?

It would also be great to have a email validity checker built in, so if emails bounce because the address in question is no longer valid, it gets removed from the email address database (but not from the vB database because i assume this would cause problems.)

Also being able to send HTML emails is a must, and being able to run the application as a background progress (cron job perhaps) would be a huge plus, I hate having to sit there while the standard vb "email users" waits to send to my 40,000+ members.

So, is there a solution for my needs out there?

This requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
