  • Archiving old threads

I have notices at the bottom of the main forum listing here an archived threads area. How do I do this as my active mysql db is growing quite large

    -thanks

The "Archive" is just a lightweight view on the threads. It does not remove older threads or such.

vBulletin does not have an Archive. It has a "Printable Version" of each post and thread on the site. Pull down Thread Tools menu at the top of this screen to "Show Printable Version".

The "Archives" you see here at vBulletin.com is just a forum named Archives. It does not reside outside of the MySQL database or cause any less load on the server.

Maybe a future version of vBulletin will have a Perl-powered archive that runs on an indexed flat file to save MySQL size and performance.
