  • search.php download popup?

a couple of members on my forum have reported getting a popup which asks whether they wish to download a file called "search.php".

1st member is using ie7 and has internet settings on default...he says he'll just be reading a page and not be doing anything when it suddenly pops up.

2nd member is on IE7 to i believe and she says its happened a few times but hasn't given any further details.

i will presume it may happen to others who haven't bothered saying anything. i've never seen it myself though (i'm also on IE7).

    why is this happening?

Try logging in as one of these users to see if you have the same problem. If you don't, then the cause is somewhere on their end. It's impossible to know exactly what it is but some possibilities are: browsers, browser settings, Internet and security settings, ISP and/or cache issues, firewalls, ad-blockers, spyware, proxies and any other application that affects Internet content.

i'd need their permission to do that though...

they say it happens very sporadically to, e.g twice in last month

i thought it was more likely a browser or security setting myself though, but thought i'd check here

      thank you
