  • Change Entire Forum Settings At One Time?

    I want to make it so ALL forums decend the posts instead of assend. And I also want to sort them by the most recent posts first.

    I know I can do this by doing each forum..but can i do this at a mass scale?

    First, make a backup, in case things go wrong.
    Then update the config.php file so you have permission to run sql queries.
    Then go into the admincp > maintenance > execute sql query > manual query:

    Code:
    [B][COLOR=black]Post Order[/COLOR][/B]
    [COLOR=black][I]Newest first: [/I]UPDATE user SET options=options + 32768 WHERE NOT(options & 32768)[/COLOR]
    [COLOR=black][I]Oldest first:[/I] UPDATE user SET options=options - 32768 WHERE options & 32768[/COLOR]
    Don't forget to add your table_prefix in front of 'user', for example 'vb3_user' (if you use one)

    But this is a per user update, this won't have effect on the forum settings.
    I will ask Colin, perhaps he knows, he also made this list here: http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213135

      Do you want to sort the threads shown on forumdisplay.php or the posts in threads in a specific forum?
