Google Ads - Left aligning them.

I'm sure there's a simple code for this. I just don't know what it is.

I would like to add one of the 120 x 600 ads (the long thin vertical ones) on the left hand side of my forums. In the "body". Not the header, not the footer. Right now when I add it, it moves everything else down. I would like...obviously...for the ads to simply be to the left of the main forums. Without moving anything else.

What you are looking for is a left column.

That worked. But its way too thick. How do I adjust the width of the column?

I tried to go back to the 'styles and template' are and adjusting the Main Table Width (pixels or percentage). That did make the 'main forum area' wider. But it spread out a lot to the right. So that everything didn't fit on one screen. People have to scroll right in order to see the rest of the forums.

It's a really tin advertisement. I'd like for it to just take up a little bit of already blank space, and for the rest of the forums to stay the way they were before.

change 150 to whatever value you need.

I tried that. Making that value bigger makes the forum smaller and smaller. Making the value smaller, makes the forum bigger...but only to a point. Right around 100 it gets to a width where no matter how much smaller I make the number, the size of the forums stays the same.

This type of customization falls outside of Jelsoft support and is given as a courtesy.

I also don't have the time to individually help you tweak your setup.

You can modify the provided code with updating the xhtml/css yourself. Making the left column value smaller shouldn't make the forum smaller.

Change stylevar to 100%
changed the header values for the outer tables to 85%
And teh width of the adsense column to 60 pixels

it shows fine for me now

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow.

By "Stylevar" are you referring to the "table width" area that has a default setting of 150? Also, where is the "head value" of the "outer tables" that you're referring to?


The adsense part seems simple enough, I will go ahead and do that right now.

acp > styles & templates > style manager > dropdown: stylevars > main table width: 100%

And then in the header template instead of $vboptions[outertablewidth] i set it to 85% where needed.

And the column you added was default 150, is set to 50 now.

I messed something up and had to 'revert' the settings.

But I went back through and changed the main table width to 100% like you said. I also changed the 150 to 50 in the column added.


I don't, however know all the places you're referring to when you say you changed the head template to 85% where needed. Sorry to bug you about this, but I had to revert the settings.





Also. For some reason my logo will no longer center now. The area of my header used for the logo looks like this:

I'm pretty sure that's all you have to do center it, right? That's what I had done to it before. But it stays left aligned.
