      It can be done with conditionals, but you might want to create another usergroup for that member and place that person in only that usergroup.

      I do not know how to get the proper call for template for this.
      <if condition="$bbuserinfo[userid] == X"></if>

      This you can add usergroup you want to be able to use private messaging
      <if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)"></if>

      Admin Control Panel => Styles & Templates => Style Manager => v Drop Down v => Edit Templates => Expand All Template Groups => modifyoptions

      Find:
      Code:
      					<tr>
      						<td><label for="cb_receivepm"><input type="checkbox" name="options[receivepm]" value="1" id="cb_receivepm" onclick="toggle_disabled(this.checked, 'pmoptions')" $checked[receivepm] />$vbphrase[enable_private_messaging]</label><input type="hidden" name="set_options[receivepm]" value="1" /></td>
      					</tr>
      Add:
      Code:
      					<tr>
      						<if condition="is_member_of($bbuserinfo, 5, 6, 7)"><td><label for="cb_receivepm"><input type="checkbox" name="options[receivepm]" value="1" id="cb_receivepm" onclick="toggle_disabled(this.checked, 'pmoptions')" $checked[receivepm] />$vbphrase[enable_private_messaging]</label><input type="hidden" name="set_options[receivepm]" value="1" /></td></if>
      					</tr>
      Admin Control Panel => Maintenance => Execute SQL Query => Automatic Query: No - Receive Private Messages

      Then you would need to tell your members to turn it back on from usercp.

      That turns it off, but does it stop them from activating it back on?

      EDIT: your right, I forgot I am in vb 3.6.5 and not vb 3.5.x anymore. Doh!
