  • Weird: One user is posting under my name (I'm Admin)

    Today one user in my forums post a message and it appeared as MY message... He is loged in with his user, but everything he posts appears under my name (I'm user #1, Admin)...

    What could it be? I haven't got a clue...

    Thanks!

    First, reupload all the original vB non-image files (except install.php). Make sure you upload these in ASCII format and overwrite the ones on the server. Also be sure to upload the admincp files to whichever directory you have set in your config.php file. Then run 'Suspect File Versions' in Diagnostics to make sure you have all the original files for your version:

    Admin CP -> Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions

    Next, disable all plugins.

    Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit config.php and add this line right under <?php

    define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

    Then if you still have this problem, create a new style and choose no parent style. This will force it to use the default templates. Finally empty your browser cache, close all browser windows then try again. Make sure you change to the new style and view your forums with it. Do you have the same problem?

      There is no Suspect File Versions...

      I've disabled the hooks and I will see if the problem remains...

      But, if there's no problem, it would be a problem of some Product? I have all this products installed....

          I should disable all, and enable one by one until I have the same problem?

          Or someone could see a Product I've installed that might be causing the problem? So I can start with that...

            You will need to disable all your products including vBSEO and then if this resolves the problem enable them again gradually one at a time until you find the one that is causing the problem. Once you have found it then you will need to seek support for it from the modification author, or remove it completely.

              I wonder if there is a point when you've installed so much into vB that it just blows up, and your monitor implodes.

              Do you think this is possible?

                Just in case anyone wants to know what was happening... It was a bug in VBSeo RC6... I've upgraded to RC8 and it's all fine now...
