Error 2013 only at AdminCP

I'm getting the following error when loading my admin CP:

Database error in vBulletin 3.6.0:
Invalid SQL:
SELECT SUM(filesize) AS size FROM attachment;
MySQL Error : Lost connection to MySQL server during query
Error Number : 2013
Date : Thursday, February 8th 2007 @ 01:49:48 AM

The error 'page' appears at the bottom of the CP home. Additionally, the background of the left frame turns white. All other areas of the CP work fine w/no errors popping up.

I've read threads regarding error 2013, but not seeming to apply. Something 'wrong' with my attachment table obviously...?

your mysql server is down ( not runnig )
or crashed . contact your hosting provider to restart it .

I don't think thats the case (unless I'm mistaken here) - as stated, that is the only location where I'm getting that error, and I can run queries throughout VB as well as phpmyadmin with no issues.
