Singer sued for €38m over fatal crash
Singer sued for €38m over fatal crash

Hopefully most of you will be able to see the difference in the two statements above. Im taking RSS feeds from a newspaper website but symbols like the euro sign are being missed and turned into garbage.

Quotation marks " are also being turned into ’ - ironically with the euro sign attached!

The user that the posts are attributed to has the the HTML advanced editor turned on.
Do you think the problem lies with the source?

    Any help appreciated.

This is usually something associated with the feed that you are using.

Thanks for the reply. After some investigation it seems that the source might be the problem. Other similar feeds give me those symbols correctly.

Quotation marks and some other special characters have to be substituted by code, for example, the apostrophe (') is shown as ' They are not all the same as xhtml standard.

EDIT: Oh yes, and check the xml encoding at the top of the file, like so: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
